Spain drew 2-2 with Morocco on Tuesday (AEST) and topped Group B with five points. The 2010 World Cup champions will face hosts Russia, who lost 3-0 to Uruguay and became second in Group A, in the round of 16 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium.

"We progress first in the group, which was the aim, although the game wasn't good ... Now it's difficult, hopefully we can play brilliantly against Russia. They come playing at a high level, hopefully we can play our hierarchy," Ramos said, as quoted by the Spanish daily Marca.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
