Russia finished second in Group A after suffering their first World Cup defeat at the hands of Uruguay 3-0 in Samara on Monday.
Luis Suarez opened the scoring for Uruguay 10 minutes into the match as the Barcelona forward drilled a low free-kick past Igor Akinfeev, who was playing in his 109th match for Russia.
Uruguay went two up midway through the first half when Diego Laxalt's long-range effort deflected off Russia midfielder Denis Cheryshev and into the net.
And Russia's chances of a comeback took a massive dent after their defender Igor Smolnikov was sent off for a second bookable offense in the 36th minute.
Edinson Cavani scored from close range after Akinfeev could only parry a header in the final minute, to complete the 3-0 rout.
