Russia, who will host the competition, which starts in two weeks time, suffered a 1-0 loss to Austria in a friendly on Wednesday.

"[The tactics] have not been finalized yet and the coach will have the final decision… The game against Austria is in the past. It was just a friendly following a tough training camp. We have a game coming up against Turkey, and you will see a different team. The team don't have low spirits, all the guys are optimistic ahead of the upcoming tournament,” Semyonov told journalists.

Semyonov, 29, was named in head coach Stanislav Cherchesov's preliminary World Cup squad in May. The player has been capped for Russia six times since making his international debut in 2014.

Russia will host its first World Cup from June 14 to July 15 and they will face Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay in Group A at the tournament.
