MOSCOW, June 4 (Sputnik) - The Russian national football team players are used to the pressure put on them by their supporters, Russia captain and goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev said on Monday.
"The national team is always under pressure. Last year, at the Confederations Cup, it was no less [than this year]. We got used to it. Of course, not everyone gets the chance to play at a home World Cup, but we need to brush aside anxiety, concerns and fears and think only about the results and the team," Akinfeev told journalists.
Russia will play Turkey at the CSKA Arena in Moscow in their final warm-up match ahead of the FIFA World Cup on Tuesday.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 host cities.
