Russia will be angrier in their round of 16 match after their defeat at the hands of Uruguay in their final group-stage game of the 2018 World Cup, the CEO of the Russia 2018 Local Organizing Committee Alexey Sorokin said.
Russia suffered their first defeat at the tournament, losing to Uruguay 3-0 in Samara on Tuesday (AEST). They dropped to second place in Group A, meaning they will face Group B winners Spain in their round of 16 match.
"The atmosphere is splendid, the stadium is modern. The score isn't very good, of course, but we will be playing [in the round of 16] at the Luzhniki stadium. A colleague of mine was right when he said that we will be angrier," Sorokin said.
Russia will take on Spain at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
