FIFA will award the Russian Football Union US $16 million (AUD $21.75 million) after Russia advanced to the World Cup quarter-finals.
Stanislav Cherchesov's side defeated Spain on penalties in the Round of 16 in Moscow and will next play Croatia in Sochi on 8 July (AEST).
If the host nation reaches the semi-finals, the RFU will be paid a minimum of US $22 million (AUD $30 million).
The winners of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will get $38 million (AUD $ 51.5 million) in prize money, with the beaten finalists set to be paid US $28 million (AUD $38 million).
