MOSCOW, June 4 (Sputnik) - Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev has checked the readiness of Saransk’s police officers to perform their duties during this summer’s FIFA World Cup, the ministry said on Monday.
“The Russian Interior Minister inspected the temporary base of the composite police detachment, where the attached employees will stay,” the ministry said in a statement published on its official website.
According to the statement, Kolokoltsev and the regional authorities also visited the operational center at the Mordovia Arena.
The 45,000-seater stadium will host four group-stage matches during the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in 11 cities across Russia from June 14 till July 15.
