“The Russian Interior Minister [Kolokoltsev] inspected the temporary base of the composite police detachment... Then he familiarized himself with the work of the operational center at the Yekaterinburg Arena, which will host four group stage matches of the World Cup,” the ministry said in a statement published on its official website.

Kolokoltsev also met with with Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy in the Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh.

Russia will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15, with Yekaterinburg being one of the 11 host cities.

A total of four group-stage games will be played at the city’s 35,000-seater stadium with Egypt taking on Uruguay on June 15, France playing Peru on June 21, Japan facing Senegal on June 24, and Mexico playing Sweden on June 27.
