MOSCOW, May 30 (Sputnik) - Russian Post said on Wednesday that they have organized the delivery of more than 300,000 FAN IDs to football fans planning to attend matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia this summer.
"About 100,000 FAN IDs have been delivered within Russia, while over 200,000 have been delivered to recipients in other countries", Russian Post said in a statement.
The FAN ID is a document that all the spectators of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia must obtain to get access to stadiums. FAN IDs are issued free of charge. It is a small laminated badge with the owner's personal data, photo and an RFID chip containing information about the holder.
Russian fans can receive their parcels with FAN IDs at post offices in 126 cities.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities from June 14 till July 15.
