Russian referee Sergei Karasev was appointed to officiate the group stage match between Morocco and Iran, FIFA said on Wednesday.
Iran will face Morocco at the 67,000-seater St. Petersburg Stadium tomorrow night. The game will kick off at 1:00am AEST.
In March, FIFA announced that a team of Russian referees led by Karasev will work at matches of the 2018 World Cup. Anton Averyanov and Tikhon Kalugin will be his assistants.
