MOSCOW, May 30 (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will be answering people's questions during the annual "Direct Line" Q&A session on June 7, may be asked who he thinks will win the upcoming FIFA World Cup, the Direct Line's official website reported Wednesday.
According to the website, the question about this summer's World Cup is among the most popular ones along with the queries concerning the country's foreign policy and surging petrol prices.
"Which national team do you think will win the 2018 FIFA World Cup? Will our [Russian] footballers reach the knockout stage?" one of the questions published by the website read.
The "Direct Line" live session has been carried out by the Kremlin since 2001. This year, the president will be answering people's questions on June 7, just a week before the World Cup kicks off in Moscow.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 host cities.
