Croatia defender Sime Vrsaljko said the support Russia would enjoy from their fans during their encounter in the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarter-final would not change anything for the Croatian squad.
Russia, who beat 2010 World Cup winners Spain on penalties on their way to the last eight, are set to take on Croatia in Sochi on Saturday.
"We're focused only on the game... We respect Russia, it was not by fluke that they have qualified for the quarter-finals, they're a great team. Russia players will certainly enjoy huge fans' support at the stadium, but it changes nothing. We'll hear almost nothing when we're on the pitch," Vrsaljko said as quoted on the official website of the Croatian Football Union.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
