NEUSTIFT IM STUBAITAL (Austria), May 26 (Sputnik) – Russia head coach Stanislav Cherchesov’s preliminary 28-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup are training at full strength for the second time since they started their preparations ahead of the tournament, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Saturday.
On Friday, FC Krasnodar Fedor Smolov re-joined the rest of the team after recovering from a minor calf injury and training individually for two days. Earlier, another Russia player, striker Artem Dzyuba, had to miss the team's first training session at their training camp in Austria due to quinsy.
The Russian squad are currently training in the Austrian town of Neustift ahead of their pre-World Cup friendly with Austria in Innsbruck on May 30, and will head back to Russia on May 31.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities.
