A Russian journalist gave Egypt head coach Hector Cuper a pair of traditional Russian winter footwear valenki as a present for Egypt star striker Mohamed Salah who will play for his country at this summer's FIFA World Cup.
"Thank you very much for the present to Salah, we really appreciate it," Cuper said.
Egypt have been drawn in Group A alongside Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and hosts Russia. They will play their first 2018 World Cup match in Yekaterinburg on Friday, with the temperature expected to be around 57 degrees Fahrenheit.
"We feel great, the weather is excellent, and the temperature seems fine for us, it is perfect for constant preparation," the Egypt head coach added.
The World Cup will kick off later on Thursday, with the final set to be played on 15 July. The matches will take place at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities.
