Egypt star striker Mohamed Salah promised to revisit Russia's Chechen Republic, according to its leader leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Egypt who failed to advance to the knockout stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup were based in the Chechen capital Grozny during the tournament.
"I invited him back and he said he'd surely come. The World Cup is being held now, so they don't have time to. He said he liked it very much here, and he'd come to the republic for a few days, that's what he said," Kadyrov told Russian daily Izvestia.
On June 22, Kadyrov received the Egyptian national team in his residence in Grozny and made striker Mohamed Salah an honorary citizen of the Chechen Republic.
