Argentina head coach Jorge Sampaoli said on Friday that he was certain that Lionel Messi would show what he was capable of at the 2018 World Cup.
Argentina are set to face Iceland at Moscow's Spartak Stadium on Saturday.
"It is hard to say who will start the game. We have a lot of players... The main thing is to let the players show what they can do and I am sure that Messi will prove his worth at this World Cup," Sampaoli said.
The head coach added that the time has come to decide whether to play Messi and Juventus forward Paulo Dybala together.
Argentina have been drawn in Group D along with Nigeria, Croatia and Iceland.
