Saudi Arabia head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi laughed, when reporters suggested he might think of stepping down after his team lost 5-0 to Russia in the opening match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday.
“It’s a poignant, but a good question,” Pizzi said, laughing at the suggestion.
“Really, it is hard to tell how I feel right now. I have my own way of working and I will try to do my best, I will pull out all the stops in everything I do,” Pizzi said.
He added that sometimes he “doesn't have control over a situation” and a game will not always go “as planned,” but “there are things to be improved and the team will improve them.”
Saudi Arabia will also play Uruguay and Egypt in their remaining two Group A matches.
