Russia finished second in Group A after suffering their first World Cup defeat to Uruguay 3-0 in Samara on Monday and will face Group B winners Spain in their round of 16 match on Sunday.

"One match against Uruguay does not define Russia. When you qualify from the group and enter the knockout stages you can expect anything. I won't be surprised if Russia reach the semi-finals. The most important is to pass the first hurdle'. And then you can expect absolutely anything," Shatov told journalists.
