MOSCOW, June 2 (Sputnik) - South Korea head coach Shin Tae-yong named on Saturday his final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia this summer.
The list, which was published in The Korea Football Association’s official Twitter account, includes Tottenham Hostspur forward Son Heung-min. The 25-year-old, who scored 20 goals in 61 appearances for the national team since making his debut in 2010, is the Asian Football Confederation’s International Footballer of the Year.
South Korea’s final FIFA World Cup squad:
Goalkeepers: Kim Seung-gyu, Kim Jin-hyeon, Cho Hyun-woo;
Defenders: Kim Young-gwon, Jang Hyun-soo, Park Joo-ho, Lee Yong, Go Yo-han, Kim Min-woo, Hong Chul, Yun Yong-sun, Jung Seung-hyun, Oh Ban-suk,
Midfielders: Ki Sung-yueng, Koo Ja-cheol, Lee Jae-sung, Ju Se-jong, Lee Seung-woo, Moon Sun-min, Jung Woo-young;
Forwards: Kim Shin-wook, Son Heung-min, Hwang Hee-chan.
The FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15, with South Korea facing Germany, Mexico and Sweden in Group F.
