England head coach Gareth Southgate said on Saturday that his side were not among the top four teams in the world despite finishing fourth in the 2018 World Cup.
England were defeated 2-0 by Belgium in the third place play-off match in St. Petersburg earlier on Saturday, matching their best World Cup result of finishing fourth in 1990.
"We are under no illusions as to where we stand as a team," Southgate said.
"We've finished in the final four, but we are not a top four team yet, we know that.
"I couldn't ask any more of any of the players today or right away through the seven weeks we've worked together."
