KALININGRAD, June 24 (Sputnik) - Spain head coach Fernando Hierro said on Sunday he was not thinking about who his side would possibly face in the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup.
Spain, who drew their first group-stage game against Portugal 3-3 on June 15 and beat Iran 1-0 on Wednesday, will face Morocco in Kaliningrad on Monday. In the round of 16 Spain will play against either Uruguay or Russia from Group A.
“Right now we are only thinking that we need to play tomorrow. We are only thinking about the game [with Morocco] and nothing else,” Hierro told journalists at the pre-match press conference.
Uruguay and Russia are also set to play on Monday in Samara in their final group-stage game.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
