MOSCOW, June 4 (Sputnik) - Spain held Switzerland to a 1-1 draw at the Estadio de la Ceramica in Villarreal in a friendly match ahead of the 2018 World Cup on Sunday.
The hosts opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark thanks to Alvaro Odriozola. Ricardo Rodriguez leveled the score in the 62nd minute.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities.
The 2010 World Cup winners, Spain, were drawn in Group B where they will play Portugal in Sochi on June 15, Iran in Kazan on June 20 and Morocco in Kaliningrad on June 25.
Drawn in Group E, Switzerland will take on Brazil in Rostov-On-Don on June 17, Serbia in Kaliningrad on June 22 and Costa Rica in Nizhny Novgorod on June 27.
