MOSCOW, May 29 (Sputnik) - Sweden striker John Guidetti has signed a permanent deal with Spanish side Alaves, the Basque club announced on their official website on Tuesday.
The former Celtic and Manchester City forward played 19 games for Alaves, scoring three goals and making three assists in all competitions after a loan move from Celta Vigo in January. Following the successful loan spell, the club bought the striker out and signed him until 2022.
The 26-year-old made his international debut for Sweden in February 2012, and has been capped 20 times since, scoring one goal. He was named in head coach Janne Andersson's 23-man squad for this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia earlier in May.
Russia will host its first-ever FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15, the matches will take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country. Sweden will face South Korea, Germany and Mexico in Group F.
