Croatia goalkeeper Danijel Subasic said Thursday ahead of their round of 16 match against Denmark that he considered midfielder Christian Eriksen to be a fantastic player, even though his side does not single out any of their opponents.
"Christian Eriksen is a fantastic player. It is a pleasure to see him play, he plays for a strong club. Nevertheless, we pay attention to the team in general, not picking out any individual," Subasic said.
He added that there were no outright favorites to win the World Cup, because every match is difficult, but he still hopes his side will win.
"Are we happy to avoid playing against France [in the round of 16]? This is one of the five main favorites to win the tournament. But Denmark are very strong, too. They haven't lost in 18 straight matches for no reason," Subasic said.
Croatia will face Denmark in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday.
