Sweden defender and captain Andreas Granqvist said he had "barely slept" on Thursday night when his wife was giving birth to their baby daughter.
"I barely slept last night. My daughter was born, my wife is fine. I hope tomorrow we'll reach the ultimate result that we are waiting for... A daughter is the most wonderful thing a person can get. And the World Cup is a footballer's dream. I'm waiting for tomorrow's match to deliver a much better performance here," the captain said.
Sweden will take on England in the World Cup quarter-finals in Samara on Saturday. The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15.
