Sweden head coach Janne Andersson said on Monday that he felt inspired by the results of the round of 16 matches at the World Cup ahead of his side's game against Switzerland.
Reigning European champions Portugal, two-time former world champions Argentina and 2010 World Cup winners Spain have all crashed out of this summer's tournament after losing their respective round of 16 games.
"We are solely focused on our matches but it's great to see the results as we can see that not only big countries can win medals. It is a great source of inspiration for me. We have prepared our footballers for the way we want them to play, we are well prepared," Andersson said.
Sweden claimed third place at the FIFA World Cup in the United States and reached the round of 16 in 2002 and 2006 but failed to qualify for the next two editions, before winning Group F in Russia.
