Holding Brazil to a draw is not a bad result, Switzerland head coach Vladimir Petkovic said on Sunday.
Brazil’s Philippe Coutinho broke the deadlock in the 20th minute, but Switzerland’s Steven Zuber equalized in the 50th minute to earn Switzerland a draw in Rostov-on-Don.
“A draw with Brazil is not bad. The opponent had more opportunities, but we were ready to press on for the entire game. My players were good, and it is a good start of the World Cup for us,” Petkovic said at the post-match press conference.
Switzerland will face Serbia on Friday and then will take on Costa Rica on June 27.
