Uruguay head coach Oscar Tabarez said on Friday that France played better in their World Cup quarter-final match.
France beat Uruguay 2-0 in Nizhny Novgorod on Friday to reach the semi-finals, while Uruguay have been eliminated from the tournament.
"Our play was not as good as our opponents, that's the way we see it. When I say 'we' I mean the whole team. We did a lot to change the way of the game, but then there was the second goal, and the substitutions I made did not help. We made a huge effort to change the course of the play, but they [France] played better. I admit that completely," Tabarez told journalists.
France are through to the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the Brazil-Belgium game, which will be played later on Friday.
