"Being in Russia is a dream come true for Iranian football. We have achieved this dream through lots of hard work and sacrifices, which only heightens how honored and privileged we feel to be here… We arrive raring to keep this dream going for as long as possible and we look forward to playing our part in making this the best World Cup ever,” Queiroz said, as quoted by the FIFA.

Iran will play a final pre-World Cup friendly against Lithuania in Moscow on June 8. They arrived in Moscow earlier on Tuesday and became the first World Cup team to set foot in Russia ahead of the tournament.

Iran will play in Group B along with 2010 World Cup winners Spain, reigning European champions Portugal and Morocco.
