ST. PETERSBURG, June 6 (Sputnik) - The national football teams of Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Costa Rica, England and South Korea, which will be based in St. Petersburg during this summer's FIFA World Cup, are set to arrive in the city from June 9 to June 12, St. Petersburg Deputy Governor Vladimir Kirillov said on Wednesday.
According to Kirillov, Saudi Arabia will arrive in St. Petersburg on June 9, followed by Croatia on June 11 and by Costa Rica, England and South Korea, all of whom are expected to arrive on June 12.
The Iranian national team landed in Moscow on Tuesday becoming the first team to arrive in Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Russia’s first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 cities across the country, Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg.
