Brazil head coach Tite said on Sunday that he was not pleased with the result after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Switzerland in their first match at the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Brazil’s Philippe Coutinho broke the deadlock in the 20th minute, but Switzerland’s Steven Zuber equalized in the 50th minute to earn Switzerland a draw, in the match played in Rostov-on-Don.
“Switzerland are a high-quality team, they played hard against us. We maintained our level during the game, and the opponent was under pressure. In total we had 20 scoring opportunities, but many of them were wide off the goal, which speaks of our concentration level. Of course, I am unhappy with today’s result,” Tite said at the post-match press conference.
Brazil will play Costa Rica on Friday and Serbia on June 27 in their remaining group stage fixtures.
