More than 2,000 volunteers from 27 countries are working at the FIFA World Cup events in Yekaterinburg, the Region Governor's Information Department said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
"The representatives of 27 countries, including Australia, China, Peru, the United States, Chile and many European countries have come to Russia to work at the World Cup as volunteers. The eldest volunteer is 76 years old and the youngest are 16," the statement said.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will continue until July 15, with a total of 64 matches set to be played at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities, including Yekaterinburg.
The city's 33,000-seater stadium saw Uruguay beat Egypt 1-0 on Friday and will host three more group-stage games. France will play Peru in Yekaterinburg on Thursday, Japan will face Senegal on Sunday and Mexico will take on Sweden on June 28.
