Russia will play their last friendly before the upcoming World Cup when they take on Turkey at the CSKA Arena on June 5.

"I'd like to wish Russia all the best. We can see that they are nervous, but I hope they will do well [at the World Cup]. This is their last match [before the tournament ], I hope that the Russians will have a successful World Cup,” Kaldirim said.

The 28-year-old defender expressed regret that Turkey had not qualified for the World Cup finals, but he was optimistic looking forward.

"Our goal is to get to make it to UEFA Euro 2020. We are a young team, and we will develop under the management of our coach.”

Russia will host its first FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15. The host nation will face Uruguay, Egypt and Saudi Arabia in Group A
