MOSCOW, July 13 (Sputnik) - Turkish Ambassador to Russia Huseyin Dirioz said on Friday that he would be cheering for Croatia in the FIFA World Cup final because of his close friendship with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
"We've been close friends for a long time because she was Assistant Secretary General at NATO and I occupied the same post, so we communicated every day," Dirioz told journalists.
He added that he wanted to watch the game at the stadium but if he failed to get a ticket, he would go to the FIFA Fan Fest at Moscow's Vorobyovy Gory.
The final between 1998 World Cup winners France and Croatia will take place at the Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
