Two UK football fans, who were involved in an incident on a train traveling to a World Cup match in the southern Russian city of Volgograd, were drunk and now face administrative penalties, the Russian transport police said Monday.
Earlier on Monday, the Reuters news agency reported that a UK national who was traveling to Volgograd was forced off the train and detained by the police after "a dispute with a police officer."
"Cases of administrative offenses were initiated against both foreigners for appearing in public places under the influence of alcohol. Besides, a case of administrative offense was initiated against the citizen who refused to follow the lawful demands of a police officer," police said.
