MOSCOW, June 5 (Sputnik) - Uruguay's first match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where they will face Egypt, will be the key game for the South American team, Atletico Madrid defender and Uruguay captain Diego Godin said.
"Egypt are a well-organized and strong team with an experienced head coach... The match against Egypt will be the key one regarding our chances of reaching the knockout stage," Godin said as quoted by the Spanish newspaper Diario AS on Monday.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities.
Uruguay will face Egypt in Yekaterinburg on June 15 before taking on Saudi Arabia in Rostov-on-Don on June 20 and playing Russia in Samara on June 25.
