Uruguay did not "take it easy" during their 1-0 win against Saudi Arabia with one eye on their final group game against Russia, Uruguay forward Luis Suarez said Wednesday.
“We did not take it easy today because we had one eye on Russia. You can never relax in any game. It was a difficult encounter, and it is never easy to win at the World Cup,” Suarez said.
Uruguay booked their place in the round of 16 after beating Saudi Arabia 1-0, with Suarez getting the only goal of the game.
The South American side will now face Russia in their final group game to see who finishes top of the group. The two sides are currently level at the summit of Group A on six points.
