"I can't say at the moment that to perform well at the World Cup is to reach a certain goal. To perform well at the World Cup means to go as far as you can," Tabarez was quoted as saying by the Uruguayan Football Association on its official website Monday.

Uruguay will face Egypt in their first match at the upcoming tournament on June 15, before taking on Saudi Arabia and hosts Russia in their other two Group A games.

Russia will host the World Cup from June 14 to July 15. The matches are set to take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across country.
