Russia will play Uruguay on June 25 in Samara, this will be the final group stage match for the teams.

"It was very important for Uruguay to win the first match [against Egypt], it's important to start the tournament well... We are very happy to win in the beginning of the World Cup... As for the match against Russia, I hope for a result that will help both teams reach playoffs. Facing Russia has always been difficult for Uruguay," Caceres told journalists.

Caceres added that football meant very much to Uruguay.

"It [football] is our way of living life beautifully," Caseres said.

Russia thrashed Saudi Arabia 5-0 in the World Cup opening game in Moscow on Thursday, while Uruguay edged out Egypt 1-0 at the Yekaterinburg Arena on Friday.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will continue until July 15, with the matches set to be played in 11 Russian cities.
