MOSCOW, July 13 (Sputnik) - US movie and rap star Will Smith said on Friday that it always felt special for him to come to countries that have a rich history, such as Russia.
Smith, along with his fellow US singer Nicky Jam and Albanian singer Era Istrefi, will perform the official song of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, titled Live It Up, at the tournament's closing ceremony, which will kick off half an hour before the final.
"I've been here [in Russia] for a few times. First time was like 14-15 years ago. It's always special for me when you come to some place like Russia with that much history. Just how old things are, how rich, how much history there is. I always enjoy it artistically," Smith told journalists.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 with the final showdown between France and Croatia set to take place at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
