The airport in the southern Russian city of Volgograd has serviced more than 115,000 passengers since the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The 44,000-seater Volgograd Arena hosted four group stage games of the tournament.
"Since the beginning of the World Cup, the total number of passengers serviced by the airport has exceeded 115,000 people. On the peak day, the passenger traffic was about 7,000 people per day with a normal traffic ranging from 2,000 to 2,500 people," said a regional official.
He added that the airport received up to 45 planes a day, while normally it only services 14.
