MOSCOW, June 6 (Sputnik) - Moscow's volunteer coordination center has opened in the Russian capital ahead of this summer's FIFA World Cup, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Wednesday.
"Today we are opening the city volunteer center. A total of 5,000 volunteers will gladly greet visitors and assist them so that they feel comfortable during the world's biggest fest," Head of Moscow's Public Relations Committee Aleksandra Aleksandrova said during the opening ceremony.
She added that one of the main requirement for the job was the knowledge of foreign languages.
Volunteers will be helping fans and tourists with transportation, finding their way around the stadiums, the Fan Fest and tourist routes. They will also help the media and medical staff and will work in the information and accreditation centers.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15 with the games set to take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country.
Moscow's 81,000-seater Luzhniki Stadium will host seven World Cup games, including the opening match and the final, while five more matches will be held at the 45,000-seater Spartak Stadium.
