The World Cup opening ceremony got underway at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, UK pop star Robbie Williams, Russian opera singer Aida Garifullina and former Brazil legend Ronaldo take part in the ceremony.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will kick off with the match between hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia to be played right after the ceremony. The tournament will last till 15 July, with the games set to be played at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities.
