Russia midfielder Yuri Zhirkov trained individually on Wednesday after Russia's 3-1 defeat of Egypt in their second World Cup match on Tuesday.
All the 23 players took to the pitch for a recovery training at Russia's Novogorks base camp, but Zhirkov, fellow midfielder Alan Dzagoev and goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev soon left the field. According to the team press service, the three players went to train individually in the gym, with Zhirkov also expected to train separately on Thursday.
Russia head coach Stanislav Cherchesov said on Wednesday that he had substituted Zhirkov during the Egypt match after the midfielder suffered an ankle problem, while Dzagoev sustained a hamstring injury during Russia's 5-0 win against Saudi Arabia in the opening game of the World Cup on 14 June.
Russia will face Uruguay in their last Group A game on 25 June.
