More than 600 football fans turned up to Melbourne's Federation Square, knowing little more than they were being treated to an “incredible night of football and music”. Pics by Getty Images and Nike Pacific.
Nike Football bussed the fans to a secret location, an airplane hangar on the outskirts of Essendon Airport, which was kitted out with Nike’s typically impressive style. Fans were encouraged to leave their boots at home and were treated to some quality small sided football in the form of a mini futsal tournament to launch Nike Football #NoTurningBack.
The Futsalroos took the crown, comfortably beating Sydney Street Crew, who may have spent their energy in the build-up games, beating a decent Nike Academy All Stars team featuring Emilio Martinez. The Australian national futsal team made the final via a close semi with freestyler and Instagram star D10’s Futsal Oz team.
Other notable teams included the Nike Football X All Stars, which included stars of past and present; Mark Bresciano, Brett Emerton, David Williams and a currently out of contract Danny de Silva.
As an added bonus Brasil and Socceroos players turning up for a chat and countless selfies - Philippe Coutinho the player with the most camera phones being thrust in his direction.
