Melbourne City have launched their new kit from Puma and it's...blue.
They've steered clear of a complete replica of parent club Manchester City's new kit with its flash of purple and instead gone for a simple round-necked City blue home shirt and a textured white away shirt featuring a "digital glitch" design.
It's the first kit from Puma for the Melbourne side and City CEO Brad Rowse was delighted with it.
“We are a club that prides itself on innovation and challenging the status quo, whether that’s in our many community projects or in working with our partners," he said.
"This new Puma kit shows just that. The new kits look and feel great. I can’t wait to see them on the pitch and with our fans in the stands.
“The players are excited to try it out in its first airing at our upcoming pre-season friendly with Oakleigh Cannons on July 23.”
Oceania Puma boss Pancho Gutstein said he looked forward to developing PUMA’s relationship with City.
“We’re honoured to be partnered with an organisation that shares our values of authenticity and innovation,” Gutstein said.
“Today’s launch is just the beginning of a continued period of on and off field success for both parties.
“We’re proud of the kit and can’t wait to see it dominate the Hyundai A-League competition this season.”
