Pre-season friendly: The last time these two met in season the Mariners suffered a 8-2 mauling at the hands of the Jets. On Saturday it was a completely different story as the F3 derby rivals played out a 2-2 draw in Maitland.
The Mariners took the lead through new signing Jack Cisby (11') before Newcastle hit back with goals to Jason Hoffman (41') and Roy O'Donovan (61'). It was up to Connor Pain (66') to ensure the Central Coast left with a share of the spoils.
Of course with sprint legend Usain Bolt looking on from the sidelines for the Mariners it was hard for any other player to get a look in with the snappers. Even Jets fans were hoping for a selfie with the eight time Olympic gold medallist.
