ADELAIDE United goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic is a target for English Premier League strugglers Portsmouth, according to a report.
The Reds custodian, currently training with the Socceroos squad, was named as a potential transfer target by The Sun newspaper.
Pompey's current number one, David James, is being linked with a January move away from Fratton Park and the English tabloid claims Avram Grant has his eye on Galekovic.
A fee approaching $3m is being talked about and if such a deal was to go through, it would be a new transfer record for any A-League player.
Galekovic told the Adelaide Advertiser that it was all speculation at this stage. The keeper only signed a new four-year deal with the Reds back in November.
His coach Aurelio Vidmar said the keeper's current form was worthy of a Socceroo slot. Speaking after the recent defeat by Sydney FC, Vidmar said: "Pim (Verbeek) shouldn't look any further than Eugene Galekovic.
"I've said that for the past couple of months. He's been super consistent for two and a half years, and Pim shouldn't look any further than Eugene in my opinion."
