At the end of round 6 last weekend, the A-League’s aggregate attendance for 294 matches was 3,973,664.

Football Federation Australia CEO Ben Buckley said: "We expect that the 4 millionth football fan is expected to walk through the gates of one of the Hyundai A-League matches this weekend.

“The Hyundai A-League is now an established part of the Australian sporting landscape.

“It is also a competition that has captured the attention of fans not just in Australia, but is increasingly doing so around the world.

“Through our broadcast partners, FOX Sports, the Hyundai A-League is also seen in the US, South America, the UK, Europe and throughout Asia.

“Football is the game the rest of the world plays and enjoys, and our own Hyundai A-League is no exception.”

To celebrate the 4 millionth person through the turnstiles, FFA is giving a prize of four tickets (and travel courtesy of Qantas if required) to the Hyundai A-League Grand Final Breakfast on 27 February and the Hyundai A-League Grand Final on 28 February.

“We don’t want to let ‘the big 4.0’ go unnoticed!” Buckley said.

The 26,336th person to attend a match in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney or Newcastle over the weekend will set the milestone.
