FOOTBALL West insists Perth Glory's home must be upgraded if the city is not risk being left out in the cold when it come to hosting both the Socceroos and big name club sides in the future.
Members Equity Stadium will welcome English Premier League duo Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham in July but Football West says action needs to be taken to ensure that other big names will follow.
An upgraded MES improve Perth's chances of attracting further international club teams and high profile matches according to Football West chairman Kevin Campbell.
"A suitable rectangular stadium is vitally important for the future of our game, not only for Perth Glory but also in potentially attracting our Socceroos, the pinnacle of the sport in Australia, to play in front of the fans who one day will hopefully aspire to be like them.
"The Perth Glory have done a fantastic job of securing the likes of Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers, both high quality Europe based clubs to come to Perth, however we must be wary that a lack of suitable facilities may dissuade other clubs of this stature from making the trip to Perth in the future," Mr Campbell said.
Newly promoted Wolverhampton will do a 10-day pre-season camp in Perth ahead of their return to England's top tier, the club scheduled to play the Glory on Friday July 10 at Members Equity Stadium.
Wolves will also play in a massive pre-season double header at Members Equity on Wednesday July 15 when they take on Fury in the North Queensland club's first ever hit-out.
The double header will start with Fury playing Wolves in what will be former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler's first major appearance in the new Hyundai A-League side.
Glory will then play a Fulham side featuring Socceroos' goal keeper Mark Schwarzer in one of three Australian matches for the Cottagers after games against Gold Coast United and Melbourne Victory.
The Glory will then finish the week by playing North Queensland on Saturday July 18 at a regional location expected to be either Mandurah or possibly Carnarvon in Western Australia's north.
